The person who decides that a task should be carried out.

  • The task sponsor informs the task manager about the purpose of the task, its background, and any other conditions.
  • Assesses whether the results of the task will be worth the effort involved.
  • Agrees with the task manager about objectives, time and resource limits.
  • Supplies resources.
  • Specifies how the results should be delivered.
  • Receives delivery.
  • Takes responsibility for the use of results.
