Coaching – Why, when, how – and when you shouldn’t!

A coaching leadership sounds good, but it’s not very easy when you’re stressed for time!
When I ask my boss a question, she always says “What are your thoughts on this?” All I want is a straight answer!
How do I coach someone who lacks ambition?
I want to start delegating more and be less involved in the details…

As the world changes, we also need to change our approach to management. Today people are our primary resource. This means that those who are skilled at motivating other people, making them contribute to the development of their organisation, are the ones who are successful. When you coach, you put the individual first!

  • Managers have a lot to gain by understanding how people work in a systematically way, and what triggers each individual.
  • Managers need tools to create dialogue about goals in order to motivate the individual to contribute.
  • Managers need to be able to listen and to give feedback – when the time is right.
