Active listening – don’t you always listen?
“I’m hearing what you’re saying” – does that mean you’re actively listening?
How do you create a group where everyone listens actively?
What is the perfect balance between speaking and listening?
A good listener gives the other person the opportunity to develop their ideas. When you want to share your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, it assumes that others are open to hearing to them.
A good listener makes it easier for the one who is talking, for example by using their body language to show that they are listening to the one speaking and to encourage that person to continue talking.
When you want to talk about difficult topics you usually talk to someone who you think is a good listener. With this is mind, it’s not surprising that being a good listener is an important quality in a manager.
