The 2019 winners of the Swedish Project Academy’s student thesis award

In the Swedish Project Academy’s student competition totally 10 thesis/master thesis have been submitted from 8 Universities in Sweden. This has made the work interesting but also difficult as they all are of high quality. The jury for the award has elected the winning thesis.

Adam Carlsén och Oscar Elfstrand, Luleå University of Technology wins the award for 2019. They get the price for the master thesis “Augmented Construction. Developing a framework for implementing Building Information Modelling through Augmented Reality at construction sites”

In the thesis they show how this way of visualizing and working in construction projects can be solve the lack of communication and cross-functional interaction that is common.
The result also shows that the technology gives a better understanding of geometrical shapes and supports the coordination of work.

The award was handed over at the Swedish Project Academy’s annual meeting on the 12th of April. Adam and Oscar gave a presentation covering their work and results. This was followed by a jam session on the thesis theme with all members of the Swedish Project Academy.
